RE: Progress Day for parent’s Wednesday 14th June 2017
In response to Parent’s/Carer’s requests we have reviewed the way in which we update Parents/Carers on your child’s progress.
We would therefore like to invite you to a Year 7, 8 and 9 Progress Day on Wednesday 14th June 2017 which will take place between 12.00 noon – 7.00 pm. The hope is that this more flexible extended day will give you a better opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with their subject teachers and identify future steps to success.
Year 7, 8 and 9 students will not be required to attend school as normal on this day, but must accompany you to their appointments. We believe it is very important for students to attend with their parents/carers, your presence will act as a support and motivation for your child. They will not need to wear school uniform.
Students in years 10, 11, 12 and 13 will not be required to be in unless they have an exam on the day or have been invited in for targeted sessions. Details of any targeted sessions will be sent out in a separate letter.
which outlines their current and expected progress in all subjects as well as their attitude to learning. This should support you in ensuring that you can speak to the subject areas in which your child needs most support.
In order to ensure that you have an opportunity to discuss each subject with your child’s teachers, it is essential for your child to make appointments with each teacher beforehand and that these timings are met. All students will have an appointment card which they will be required to fill in.
Please note there will be no appointments between 3.00 pm and 3.45 pm.
We look forward to welcoming you on this very important day in ensuring success for your child’s future.
