Overview

Health and Social Care level 3 BTEC is taught by specialist teachers.  You can study for the Subsidiary Diploma, equivalent to 1 A level, Diploma, equivalent to 2 A levels or the Extended Diploma which is equivalent to 3 A levels. BTEC level 3 Health and Social Care provides much of the underpinning knowledge for the National Occupational Standards in Health or Social Care and consequently acts as a robust introduction to both sectors.

The Diploma and Extended Diploma require student to undertake 100 hours of placement in health or social care settings. Students will therefore be encouraged to fulfil voluntary placements with local service providers. This will not only support their academic study but also give them a true insight into a career in health or social care.
