OUTSTANDING ART

Outstanding A Level Art student, Simran, says A Level is a big push after GCSE, but well-worth the effort. Talking about the process of creating an artwork at A Level, Simran explained: “You start by creating a storyboard of smaller ideas using different materials, and show your annotation about how you felt about using a particular material. You need to be able to critique your ideas and assess how you could have done better. You are given a title each term and have to develop this through many different stages, taking your own photos, and researching different artists, giving your own interpretation using sketches, watercolours, acrylics and crayons. Producing a mind-map at the beginning is helpful.  One of my pieces was based on natural form and then I developed this.”
