NATIONAL NAVIGATION AWARD SCHEME – DofE

Twenty-four students embarking on their Duke of Edinburgh bronze award have been taking on a new skill on the National Navigation Award Scheme. In six hours of training they have learned basic map reading, how to interpret a map, compass work, how to plan routes, countryside access issues and the countryside code.

Developing these navigation skills will help them to enjoy the great outdoors confidently and well. Students are assessed after the course and if they are up to standard, will be presented with their National Navigation Bronze Award.
