“Great job, Grace Academy did amazingly for my child.”

“Great job, Grace Academy did amazingly for my child.  I am proud of my son and staff at Grace Academy.” Parent of high-flying grade 9 student.

At our recent Year 6 Open Evening, students, parents, and carers were invited to find out more about the Academy’s core aim to be a community centre of both academic and personal excellence, encouraging students to develop their intellectual, physical and moral abilities and make a positive contribution to their community.

The Academy’s strong leadership team and focus on strengthening teaching and learning, has fuelled sustained progress in attainment, with a rise in the number of top grades at GCSE, and 100% of Post-16 students who applied securing a place at university.

High-flying GCSE grade 9 student Mohammed Khartabil said: “Ecstatic about my results.  Thankful to all the staff and revision sessions which really helped.”  Outstanding student Joshua Afonso added: “Very happy and grateful for my results. Thanks to my teachers and parents for encouraging me to revise and practise.”

The Academy, which is all about creating a family focus and building community, encourages the holistic development of students which it believes has a proven relationship to improved behaviour and grades.

Students have the opportunity to learn key skills and develop as well-rounded people through a range of extra-curricular activities.  This strengthens their self-esteem, capacity to juggle different challenges in their lives and teamwork in line with the Academy’s core values of Grace, Respect, Integrity, Potential and Excellence.

An excellent range of clubs and activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Army Cadets, Science Club, dance, music, sports and public speaking, all prepare students with the skills and ability to socialise more effectively with their peers, develop independence, and reach their full potential.

Students are encouraged to have high aspirations and expectations for themselves, and the Academy aims to help support and prepare them for applying to higher education colleges or their chosen careers in the workplace.

Anu Monga, Principal, said: “It was a real pleasure to live moments of real joy, happiness and tears of success when our students received their results this year.  We couldn’t have achieved this without having developed a real partnership with parents, carers, and our students on their journey to success.”
