Primary school students experience academy life

Over 150 Year 6 students from primary schools across Coventry spent a day experiencing a range of lessons at Grace Academy, to get a feel for what Academy life is really like on a day to day basis.

The students experienced lessons in subject areas ranging from Science and Maths to English and Humanities.  In English they were invited to take part in an activity about Shakespeare, while in Science they got involved in a number of experiments.

Teacher Jack Beamish said:

“As a rapidly improving school with a clear sense of values, Grace Academy encourages students all through their school life to achieve what they need to.  The Academy feels like a family and this is something we are keen to boost and support, ensuring that teachers, students, parents and carers all work together with one shared common goal.

“Days like this help students to settle in to Academy life when they arrive in September, helping them to feel more comfortable with the environment and meet teachers, as well as giving them the opportunity to make new friends and experience what secondary school is really like.

“Our overall aim is to create kind, caring, considerate citizens who will be able to make a positive contribution to modern society.”
