End of Term Arrangements

Dear Parent/Carer,

Christmas this year, will undoubtedly look different for us all but within the Academy, we are making plans to make this as special as we can for our students. During the last two weeks of term festive activities will take place, which will include:

  • Christmas Jumper Day is on Friday 11th Students will need to wear full Academy uniform of black trousers or a knee length skirt for girls, black socks or tights, white shirt, Academy tie and blazer. It will be optional for students to wear a Christmas jumper and we are asking for a donation of £1.00. All of the money raised will go to Save the Children.
  • A festive Christmas lunch will be served in the school canteen on Wednesday 16th December and the cost for a student meal is £2.05 which can be paid by parents via ParentPay.
  • Our sixth form students are working with Miss Gough on a Selection Box Drive. This will be announced to the whole school in assembly next week. The aim is for our students to bring in 300 Selection Boxes which will be donated to our local food bank this Christmas.
  • This year, our Christmas theme is ‘The Season That Changed The World’. We have displayed the posters and banners around the Academy. From a Christian perspective within our Academy, this looks at how the season of Jesus’ birth changed the world but also how the season we are currently in, changed the world. An assembly and tutor activities will be focused on this the week prior to holidays.
  • Celebration assemblies will take place during the last day of term where students will be presented with certificates. In addition, during the day students will take part in festive activities in their tutor groups.

For the last day of term, Friday 18th December, students will finish at an earlier time of 1:00pm. Those students eligible for a free school meal will be provided with a meal to take home.

Yours faithfully,

Ms Taylor
Principal
