Return to the Academy from 8th March

Thank you to all parents who were involved in the Ofsted Visit last week and your contributions to the Parent Survey.  We will shortly be receiving a letter from Inspectors which we will send out once received.

We have been working hard to plan the phased return of all students to the Academy from Monday 8th March.  Our plans ensure that all students will be able to return to the Academy safely as quickly as possible from this date.

Please read the information below carefully so that you and your child are clear about how and when they should return to the Academy.  In preparation of this, if you have not already returned your consent for Lateral Flow Testing please do so using the link below:

Support for testing

In order to support your child and to alleviate any worries or concerns regarding the test assemblies will be delivered remotely this week.  Please ensure your child attends.

Time for Lateral Flow Tests

All parents will shortly receive a text and email providing you with a specific date and time for your child to attend the Academy for their LFTs.

Each test will take approximately 10 minutes.  It is important that students only attend the Academy for the specific time of their test.  This will enable us to test all students safely and to keep bubbles apart.  Following the test students will return home.

Parents are welcome to sit and wait in their cars in the school carpark and wait for their child to have the test.

Students are not required to attend the Academy in uniform for these tests.

Second and third tests

All students will have 2 further tests following their first test during the normal school day and when they are on site as usual.  These tests will take place between 3 and 5 days apart.

Home Testing

Once all students have been tested 3 times students will be sent home with home testing kits for parents to conduct testing at home.

We are awaiting the delivery of these tests and will provide further information and guidance once these have been received.

Safety

We have also updated our Academy Risk Assessment and our Testing Risk Assessments.  Both can be found on our website or following the link below:

Absence

The normal absence protocols must be followed by parents from the 8th March.  Parents must telephone the absence line to inform the Academy if their child is unwell from the date they are expected to be attending site full time.

Uniform

The usual uniform expectations are required on return to full-time education on site.
