Update from the Principal

Dear Parents/ Carers and Students,

I hope that this letter finds you safe and well. It has been great to see all students returning and lessons taking place on site.

I am writing to inform you that I have made the difficult decision as Interim Principal to leave Grace Academy at the end of this academic year. This decision has not been an easy one, however a 120 mile daily commute and the additional time commitment this adds to the working day has been a contributing factor in my decision. In September I will be moving to a new venture continuing in educational leadership alongside church and charity work.

I have great pride in leading this Academy and I am particularly proud of what staff and students have achieved during my time as Principal. During the last 18 months we have had some real achievements, including an improved Ofsted grading, with additional confirmation during the recent Ofsted Remote Monitoring Inspection in February.

The Trust and Governing Body have been extremely supportive to me both during my time as Principal and during my decision making process at this time. I have every faith that they will find an outstanding replacement as Principal of Grace Academy for September and I know that they will keep you all fully informed throughout the recruitment process.

I am fully committed to giving my unwavering dedication to you all until my leaving date on the 31st August. I will continue to work with the academy leadership team in further driving standards forwards for the remainder of the academic year. I would also like to reassure parents of Years 11 and 13 that there will be no negative impact on the results process for this summer and I will continue to lead the academy through this.

Grace Academy is a unique and special place to lead, this is because of the students, staff and parents that make up the Grace Family. The Academy will always have a special place in my heart and I look forward to watching it continue to grow from strength to strength on the journey towards outstanding.

Finally, I would like to thank the staff for all their hard work, especially in going above and beyond during lockdown, parents for their support and the Governing Body and Trust for giving me the opportunity to lead this amazing academy.

Yours faithfully,

Ms J Taylor
