World Book Day 4th March 2021

World Book Day changes lives through a love of books and shared reading. As a school, we promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to engage with literature. Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success. We want to see all Grace students participate in the day where they can, even virtually!

On Google Classroom throughout the day, look out for Grace Academy Coventry’s very own virtual World Book Day – it will include:

  • A Masked Reader competition – students can guess the staff member, where they are hiding behind their favourite books.
  • A Virtual Literary Treasure Hunt – students can look for clues to explore some of the classic children’s books from across time.
  • The Importance of Reading – every teacher in the Academy will be showing how reading is important in their subject area.
  • A Book that Changed my Life – get an insight into how books shaped your teachers’ lives: just log onto your classroom at any point in the day to read about it.

For students currently in schools, all of the above activities will be available as well as a create a bookmark competition.
