Following the announcement (6th July) by the Department for Education, we will be re-introducing in-school mass testing when students return to school in September. The advice is that all secondary school students should receive 2 on-site lateral flow device tests (3 to 5 days apart) upon their return in the Autumn term.
Please ensure you have completed the electronic consent form that has been emailed to you. A response is required whether you consent to your child taking part in the testing or not. If you are having issues completing the form please contact the Academy Office, we recommend that all students engage in then testing so that we can support in reducing the transmission of Covid and therefore have arranged a series of staggered starts to allow testing of all year groups, but also give all students a much needed transition into their new year group. We want all students to have a superb start to their year.
We will start testing on Tuesday 7th September.
Students will be returning to school on:
- Year 7 – Tuesday 7th September at 8:35am (Testing from 9:00am – 10:30am)
- Post 16 – Tuesday 7th September at 11:00am (Testing from 11:30am – 12:00pm)
- Year 8 – Wednesday 8th September at 8:35am (Testing from 9:00am – 10:30am)
- Year 9 – Wednesday 8th September at 11:00am (Testing from 11:30am – 1:00pm)
- Year 10 – Thursday 9th September at 8:35am (Testing from 9:00am – 10:30am)
- Year 11 – Thursday 9th September at 11:00am (Testing from 11:30am – 1:00pm)

We are excited for the Academic year ahead, and for our students to return to an Academy where they can flourish and develop, as we move forwards in our ‘Grace Way’. May I also take this opportunity to thank you for being such a welcoming community, I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 6 weeks here, with an incredibly dedicated staff and truly excellent student body. Please do follow us on social media, where will be regularly updating you on our achievements. Our sports event today was an excellent example of the exceptional behaviour and attitudes that we want to continue to foster as part of the ‘Grace Way’
I wish you a restful and enjoyable summer break.
