18/10/22: Year 11 Period 6 Interventions Launch

Dear Parents/Carers,

Period 6 Intervention: Launch date

As part of our ‘Year 11 Launch’, we will be running ‘Period 6’ support sessions from Monday 31^st October 2022 (the first Monday back). These sessions will specifically address key topics in preparation for the mock examinations which begin on Monday 21^st November 2022. Sessions will start at 15:00 prompt and will run until 16:00 (on some occasions 16:15). Registers will be taken so it is essential students arrive on time ready to learn.

The Period 6 timetable is as follows: Maths and Science are held on Wednesday or Thursday on a rotational basis. If your son/daughter is unsure if it is week A or B, this information can be found in their planner for the respective week.

Please support in encouraging your child to attend Period 6 study as a matter of course, and to engage fully in these sessions. Please contact me if you would like any further information (kieronbrehon@graceacademy.org.uk).

Detentions

Students who receive detentions during the school day may be able to complete their detention during the Period 6 intervention session. Period 6 remains a privilege and therefore poor behaviour would result in loss of this privilege. We do however in some circumstances make allowances for students to complete their detention during a Period 6 session - their behaviour in the session would be closely monitored. Repeated poor behaviour would result in a detention being issued as standard but the right to attend Period 6 being withdrawn.
