Grace Academy Coventry aim to offer a high quality careers guidance and advice, building career aspirations with high achieving and ambitious students. This journey will start in Year 7 and develop throughout their years at the academy, by Year 11 student leave ready for the world of work.

Key Stage 3

All students will have the opportunity in enhance their understanding and explore of the world of work. Students have the opportunity to meet with Industry specialists that are selected to ensure students have the opportunity to learn about different industries. Year 7 have the opportunity to explore career pathways during the careers fair, and Speed networking event. Year 8 Enterprise challenges and Step into NHS Competition. Year 9 have the World Skills Show NEC and all key stage students have careers and labour market workshops with our Careers Advisor.

Key stage 3 students also take part in careers during their PSHE programme and this is support by our Online Careers platform Unifrog. These events and opportunities encourage our students to think about soft skills which are transferable to all their subjects.

Key Stage 4

During Key stage 4 our Year 10 and Year 11 our students are encouraged to take part in career enhancing opportunities, a number of employability workshops having access to different industries specialists, supporting with CV and mock interview workshops, work experience visits with employers, colleges, universities and apprenticeships providers.

All Year 11 students have one to one careers advice and access to a comprehensive range of Post 16 options.

Post 16

With the support of business alliance our Year 12 and Year 13 will receive a number of opportunities to experience the world of work, preparing them with the right skill set for life in modern Britain. The aim is to offer the chances to develop transferable skills via; UCAS workshop, apprenticeship and employability workshops. Careers appointments with Careers adviser, visiting Universities and career fairs.
