The pastoral provision is detailed below which is being provided for 6th Form students during this period of national lockdown and school site closure.
We are holding virtual assemblies on Monday and Friday at 08:30. We expect all student to attend these assemblies. During assembly, we share key messages to students alongside the delivery of other aspects of our tutor programme. Students have received GoogleMeet invites to all these assemblies but should they have any difficulty joining they should contact their tutor.
Drop in tutorial
Each Wednesday at 08:30, the 6th Form tutor team are available for a virtual drop-in tutorial session. This session is for any student who would like to discuss any concerns or issues they are currently having. Attendance to this tutorial is optional.
6th Form students currently have three enrichment opportunities to take part in during this lockdown period. Enrichment is a vital part of 6th Form life, and I would encourage all students to take part in at least one activity, particularly in the current situation. We are currently offering;
6th Form RunClub – A virtual running group for 6th Form student with weekly challenges set by teachers.
6th Form CookingClub – A weekly virtual cooking lesson presented by 6th Form staff. These take place on Tuesday at 15:00. Week 1 was Mr Goodwin’s Macaroni Cheese, Week 2 is Miss Goughs Homemade Pizza.
Unifrog MOOCs – MOOCs (Massive open online courses) are free online courses that provide students with ways to learn new skills and gain knowledge in a wide variety of areas. Students can access MOOCs through our UniFrog platform that is used in tutor time.
6th Form PhotoClub – A weekly themed competition to take a photo and submit to the 6th Form team by email ready for our showcase during Friday assembly. Expensive camera not required!
Mrs Moore’s Tomato challenge – Sign up with Mrs Moore to receive your seed growing pack and spend lockdown nurturing your very own tomato plant.
Students have been given full details of all these enrichment opportunities in our bi-weekly assemblies.
