Rewards

We acknowledge the achievements of students in all areas of ‘Grace Life’. The formal rewards system for Years 7-11 is made up of the below:

Student Leaders
In recognition of ‘Limitless Potential’ within the Academy, we celebrate those students who are demonstrating the right commitment to learning, those who show an outstanding attitude in all areas and those who really embody all that ‘The Grace Way’ stands for. We therefore nominate Student Leaders in the Academy who wear our premium gold and purple ties. These students represent what we stand for here at Grace Academy and four new student leaders from every year group are chosen each term.

Gold Stars
Gold Stars are issued to students during lessons and around the Academy. Gold stars are given for exceptional behaviour including positive contributions to lessons, fantastic effort, helping others with their learning and going above and beyond. At the end of each term, these gold stars are counted, and rewards are given based on the number of positive behaviour points accumulated.

Attendance
We believe that students are only able to achieve their potential if they attend school and engage in lessons. We therefore expect our students to have maximum attendance and punctuality. Attendance awards are given to students as a recognition of their efforts to be in school and learning.

Year Group Awards
Additional rewards are given to students who truly embody ‘The Grace Way’. These awards are nominated by the following staff members:
- Tutor Award
- Assistant Head of Key Stage Award
- Head of Year Award
- Academy Leadership Team Award
- Principal Award

Subject
We celebrate students’ achievements within their lessons in a termly celebration assembly. We believe it is vital to reward both their achievement and effort during this celebration assembly across all subject areas.

Additional Rewards
In addition to this, our students can receive rewards throughout the year. Possible rewards include trips and educational visits, prom contribution, certificates, Principal postcards, lunchtime passes, prize draw, cinema afternoon and monetary vouchers.
