What will I study
The study of Fine Art an A-level will allow you to develop your skills to an advanced level and for you to develop a more creative and wider ranging approach to your studies. Art is time consuming, but very rewarding.
How will I be assessed
The A Level qualification requires a series of small projects that build to a coursework component called ‘Personal Investigation’ worth 50% of the whole qualification. This is followed by the externally assessed assignment worth 40%
Why study A Level Art
A level Art and Design is a diverse, challenging and rewarding course which combines practical skills with an independent development of ideas. The full course is made up of 2 components through which students can experiment with a range of techniques and processes to create an exciting portfolio of their work. Students are encouraged to
independently develop their own ideas and processes, based on the visual world around them. They will record ideas and processes from primary and secondary sources in a personal journal or sketchbook. Students will draw on historical and contemporary sources in order to contextualize their own work
